Money Basics — a book on everyday personal finance.
Reading the Market — an introduction to how the share market works.
The AI Decade — a plain-language guide to artificial intelligence.

Several categories. You choose one.

Every title is written for a reader starting from zero. They explain things — they do not sell anything, and none of them tells you what to buy.

A cover from the Artificial Intelligence category.

Artificial Intelligence

Making sense of the AI era

Titles in this category explain what artificial intelligence actually does, where it has already turned up in Malaysian workplaces, and the vocabulary you need to follow the conversation without nodding along.

  • How the tools work, minus the jargon
  • Where it helps at work, and where it does not
  • Questions worth asking before you trust it
A cover from the Money & Personal Finance category.

Money & Personal Finance

Everyday household planning

Budgeting, EPF, insurance, debt and savings, written around how Malaysian households actually earn and spend. No financial product is promoted in any of them.

  • Reading your own payslip and EPF statement
  • Setting aside an emergency fund on a real salary
  • Working out what a loan genuinely costs you
A cover from the Stock Market Basics category.

Stock Market Basics

For complete beginners

An introduction to Bursa Malaysia: what a share is, how an index is put together, how to read a company report, and what can go wrong. Educational only — these titles recommend no stock and give no advice.

  • What you are buying when you buy a share
  • How to read an annual report without panicking
  • The risks, written out plainly

Books belong in more Malaysian homes.

Baca Bersama is a Malaysian community initiative dedicated to promoting reading, education and access to books for families, students and communities across the country. We buy these titles in bulk, absorb the cost of printing and postage, and pass them on to whoever asks. That is the whole model.

There is nothing to buy afterwards. No subscription, no course, no investment service, and no salesperson will call you about one. If a book turns out not to be for you, pass it to a friend or leave it at your nearest community library — that is rather the point.

Funded, not sponsored

The programme is paid for by the organiser. It is not endorsed by, or affiliated with, any government body or regulator.

What we collect

To post a book to you we collect your name, WhatsApp number, delivery address and the title you chose. If you write to us by email we keep that message and your email address. We do not collect identity card numbers, bank details or card details, and you should never send them to us.

Why we collect it

Solely to check eligibility, pack and deliver your book, sort out a delivery problem, and answer your questions. We also keep a simple count of copies sent so we know when a title has run out.

Who we share it with

Your name, phone number and address are given to the courier that delivers your parcel, because that is how a parcel arrives. Beyond that we do not sell, rent or trade your details, and we do not pass them to advertisers or to any financial services company.

How long we keep it

Delivery records are kept for twelve months after your book is sent, then deleted. Email correspondence is kept for twenty-four months.

Your rights under the PDPA 2010

Under the Personal Data Protection Act 2010 you may ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Write to hello@bacabersama.my and we will respond within twenty-one days.

Cookies

This page uses no advertising cookies and no cross-site tracking. Any storage used by the browser is limited to keeping the page working.

Security

Records are held on access-controlled systems. No system is perfectly secure, so we keep as little as we can and delete it on the schedule above.
